Manifesto

Accounting firms do not need another place to store work. They need a system that helps the work move.

The problem

StoreMove

An engagement rarely stalls because nobody knows how to make a journal entry. It stalls because evidence is missing, a question is waiting on the client, an exception has not been reviewed or context is scattered.

Accounting software became very good at recording the work. It still does much less to help the work move.

Our thesis

We believe the next important accounting system will not only store the state of an engagement. It will help determine what is missing, what can be prepared, what needs review and what should happen next.

What we believe

Four ideas guide the product.

01

The engagement is the unit

Documents are only the beginning. Evidence, questions, decisions, exceptions and next actions should stay tied to the same work.

02

AI absorbs repetition

Collecting, reading, extracting, checking and following up are tasks software can take on.

03

Human judgment becomes more valuable

When preparation shrinks, accountants can spend more time reviewing, exercising judgment and serving clients.

04

Leverage is the real measure

Success is not documents processed. It is how much high-quality client work a team can complete.

Why we are building Coalesc

We are building Coalesc so accountants can supervise more high-quality work instead of spending their days moving information around.
